WORSHIP TEAM
Our Team promotes the
spiritual life of the congregation by providing music, information, and
activities that will enhance the worship service. We coordinate the
participation of the congregation for the various functions at our worship
services. We meet the fourth Monday of the month at 7:15 PM

COMMUNION ASSISTANTS
Assist with the preparation and

serve communion the first Sunday of every month.
FLOWERS
Special events are celebrated with
flowers. The sign-up sheet for floral bouquets is on the bulletin board in the
hallway outside the parlor. Please be sure to list your phone number so you can
be contacted the week before and the information can be entered into the
bulletin.
The people who serve by making sure
there are flowers on the altar perform the following duties: Check every Sunday
for the next week’s altar flowers, contact the donor to get information to be
put in the bulletin, call the church office manager by Tuesday to have the
information included in the bulletin. We also check to make certain that the
flowers are on the altar or stand on Communion Sunday. At Easter, we fill the
sanctuary with spring plants. They are purchased by the congregation and placed
in the sanctuary for Easter Sunday.
The donor may supply the flowers or
they can be ordered for you. If we need to order the flowers we call Jan’s
Flower Shop at 898-5611. Donors may take their flowers home after the service
has ended. If they choose to leave the flowers they are taken to a nursing home
or someone in the congregation who is homebound.
GREETERS
Church member greeters wear name
tags and greet worshippers. Greeters listen, smile, ask, talk,
shake hands, and introduce themselves to those they do not know and make people
feel welcome.
When asked, greeters direct and
give location of sanctuary, nursery, Sunday School classes, and restrooms and
also mention refreshments in the Heavenly Grounds Parlor. Greeters are assigned
by the Worship Team’s Greeter Coordinator, who contacts them a month ahead of
time and gives their names to the church secretary.
LITURGISTS
Volunteers from our congregation serve as the liturgists in
our Sunday morning worship service. They read the Scripture, Call to
Worship, Prayer of Confession, Affirmation of Faith, and the Blessing &
Benediction. Generally the liturgists serve on a rotation schedule,
reading two Sundays in a row every few months. Some, however, prefer to
read
sporadically a few times throughout the year and that is fine as well. You
would find serving as a liturgist to be a rewarding experience for you and
enjoyable for our congregation.
USHERS
T eams
of four individuals distribute bulletins, receive the offering, usher
congregation to Holy Communion, take attendance, collect Attendance Pads, and
respond to special needs during worship services. All young adults and adults
are welcome to participate. There is a sign-up on sheet outside the parlor.
